Hi

Is there any way a non programmer like me could alter this building so that it produces food from just fish, and from just meat?

So it could produce food from whatever input I brought along?

I hope so as a map I have been working on has this building as a center piece, and I thought it made food from whatever it was brought.  I don't want to add grain to my map.

No - simutrans industries require ALL of the input goods in order to produce; there is no capability for "or" logic.

Find sources, read, alter, compile. It is really simple :) You want files for food_processing_plant. Delete everything related to flour input, which has index of 2, and rename the object as well.

http://simutrans.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/simutrans/pak128/factories/

This will require making the object an addon, though... So, what Hood say is true, in a way. You can't modify an existing item in game.

My projects... Tools for messing with Simutrans graphics. Graphic archive - templates and some other stuff for painters. Development logs for most recent information on what is going on. And of course pak128!

Thanks gents for your speedy replies.

Looks like I will have to add grain farms after all.

If there was a industry editor/customizer wizard tool I would have made 2 2x1 tile factories. 1 making food from fish, and another making food from meat. Then put them side by side each with high production levels.  That would have given me my flexible food factory complex.
