The last two days I played around to visualize simutrans coding (mainly becaue OpenTTD did an update too). The result:
http://www.simutrans-forum.de/downloads/simutrans-joint.avi (5 MB)
has no sound, since any MP3 would nearly double the size of the videa. I would put boring afternoon to it however, it fits pretty well with the length.
Or higher quality with sound on youtube:

Nice one that. Programmer situation now looks much better than in 2007/8!
Fascinating visualisation there. What software was used to generate it?
That's amazing, and something to show if we get the "Why can't things be programmed faster?" people again. heh.
Also, I didn't realize there was active work on 3D. I really am out of the loop. :-S

Welcome aboard the loop. :D
BTW: what a nice video!
Wow, best parts:
0:47 (13/08/2007)
1:30 (05/03/2008)
2:20 (09/01/2009)
3:47 Tron helping the network version.
Those were impressive. Big explosions. ;D
Oh and the ending part is also great, the contributions got really better. EA is getting jealous, take care you all. ;)
It also shows very much my holidays in august/september in 2007, 2008 and 2009 ...
Hmm, interesting - I didn't know (or perhaps had forgotten...?) that my code had made it into Standard...
After some fiddeling with the available data, I could create a codeswarm from 1.1.2005:
