Haruca

Hi,
I made the '30s italian coach, "Centoporte".
The graphic size is fitted to Haru's coaches like the Rheingold of DB.
Other versions are here: http://haruca.altervista.org/simutrans/index.html#addon-pak128 .

PAK IS HERE: http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=13779.msg143696#msg143696 (9 apr. 2015)

gauthier

Very nice ;)
The prices, as calculated with Zeno's calculator, should be :
cost=6077000
runningcost=68

Haruca

Thank you for your advice.
But I don't know where Zeno's calculator is or the formula.
Would you teach me it?

gauthier

His calculator does many operations but the formula hasn't been explicitated from his code (I tried once but didn't achieved this tedious task  :-X ). Anyway he's okay with sharing his calculator so you just have to ask him ;)

Haruca

Thank you.
I tried to send a e-mail to him, but there is still no reply (perhaps the e-mail function has a problem ::-\).
So I rewrote the dat file.
If there are any problems again, please point them out :).

gauthier

He must be on vacation currently. Send me a personnal message with your e-mail adress (or send a mail directly to gauthier.nottret@edu.esiee.fr), I will send you the calculator.

On North and South views, something looks weird to me (see attached picture).
By the way, your coach is aligned for current versions of pak128 but you will have to lower it by 4 pixels for the next release of pak128.

Haruca

Hummm... ???

My coach doesn't float on the pak128 version 2.3.0.
New version makes an old train a high-tech maglev 8)
But the nightly version doesn't work with my PC.
I'll have to modify addons before stable version is released!

Thank you :D

Haruca

Thank you for waiting.
New-landscape-versions came ;)

These coaches are painted player-colour.
And the composition is limited to some extent.
First class carriages can't be the next of locomotives.

Dat and png files will be opened to the public soon.

Original coloured version are here:
http://haruca.altervista.org/simutrans/index.html#addon-pak128.

gauthier

Still nice but is it really usefull to have three different models ?

Haruca

Thank you for your opinion.
I tried remaking add-on 8)

Certainly, it is not useful to have many similar types of coach in the simulation.
And it is not flavorful to have only one type of it in the composition.
So, I narrowed down the types to two, Az and Bz.

I release the E656 player-coloured
as I haven't made the locomotive matching the period yet.

gauthier

QuoteSo, I narrowed down the types to two, Az and Bz.
Sounds like a good choice :)

E656 is already very nice, although it got many details and looks messy, you can make details and lines smoother. Here is an attached example of what I am saying. I smoothed some parts, especially the red part. You can also make player color parts smoother, using darker shades next to dark colors and brighter shades next to bright colors.

Haruca

Thank you for your kindness.
I arranged and smoothed the graphic.

About player-colour, I don't paint it well.
I repainted this color for vanished contrast owing to the changing blue-colour into player-colour.
On south side, it grew too light, hummm.

gauthier

QuoteOn south side, it grew too light, hummm.
This problem happens quite often, light level of different colors are not 100% consistent.

Anyway, your loc is much nicer now, you can also smooth between black and bright parts of the bogies, and even pantographs although is much more difficult. You can also play with player color brightness around windows, but in this case you might need to take some pixels of the windows themselves. In such case, your vehicle could look weird at night. It's up to you to choose what to do with windows.

Here is an example, from my train addons, of a player color smoothing near windows. You can download the source files and take a look at the source image.

Haruca

Your trains are very nice :)
Their colours are smooth but their equipment is clear.
Double-deckers' windows, like VB2n or Z5600, are beautiful.
(I like VB2n original-coloured.)

I altered colours around windows.
They are surely better at night.
