Title: BR Class 45

Here is the BR Class 45 (originally known as the Derby Type 4):

This locomotive, introduced in 1960, is a useful in-fill between the BR Class 40, introduced in 1958, but somewhat underpowered, and the faster and more powerful BR Class 47, introduced in 1963. (The Deltic/class 55 is introduced in 1961, but should be very much more expensive both to buy and to run than type 4s such as the 40, 45 and 47).

Ah, it struck me in the past that there was, quite oddly, no 45, as they were rather common on the expresses over the Midland mainline in the 1970's.
