Upon trying to register some pak texts translations in SimuTranslator that I did by editing pt.tab, I have not found some strings there:

Quotesheeps
gooses
gemsen

I'm not certain exactly what your asking Igor (except that perhaps they are missing from the master Translation file?) I don't involve myself with translating so maybe someone else can make better sense of your meaning?

However In English the plural forms that you have mentions are incorrect.

more than one sheep become sheep (There is a herd of sheep in the top paddock)
more than one goose become geese (The flock of geese flew to where it was warmer)

and I'm not sure what that last one is supposed to be ???

I'm saying that those strings are not included in SimuTranslator. I had found them in older and current versions of Simutrans.

Those three strings (internal texts) are Moving Objects names.

I don't know.... probably, they are in German language. Or else... ::)

Mountain goats. http://images.google.com.br/images?hl=en&q=gemsen&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title

But I think "gooses" and "gemsen" are discontinued in current version. I haven't found both object anymore (I liked much seeing such animals running on Simutran's hills... ;D)

EDIT: Seems all Moving Objects and Ground Objects are not included in SimuTranslator DB.
Title: Re: Strings missing in SimuTransLator
Post by: Ormac on November 20, 2008, 04:50:32 AM
I recognised the first two as moving objects.

It would be a shame if the geese have been removed because I like them better than the herds of sheep

They were exactly there before, but now, there are only translation for waste addons.

Can someone restore old ones or add texts again ? Thank you.

@Frank, the translateable strings in the powernet info window are

Net ID: %u\n
Capacity: %u MW\n
Demand: %u MW\n
Generation: %u MW\n
Act. load: %u MW\n
Usage: %u %%

These strings are obsolete:

"Net ID:"
"\nCapacity:"
" MW"
"\nDemand:"
"\nGeneration:"
"\nAct. Load:"
"\nGen. Usage:"
"\nSupplied: "

Prissi changed the strings after I wrote this message:

The 3 last are not important but they work.

Wasser

Hangar
Hangar Dialog title

Maglev

Air
Airplanes tab at Line Management

set signal spacing

remove interm. signals
replace other signals

These are missing in translator. The first one is the window title, the second one the label next to the number input field.

OK not sure what caused it, but I fixed changing the string line on tab file.

Some more missing strings are Game Info and find mismatch both on Play Online Dialog.
Signal is missed on Signal Dialog too.

Hangar and Maglev are available on Simutranslator but it's not exported on tab file.

Air and Wasser are still missed.

I found some more missing strings:
Comparing pak's ...
After clicking over find mismatch button it appears in a bar
Pakset differences
Title of find mismatch dialog
Pak(s) missing on client:
Fist line on find mismatch dialog
Stops
On Play Online dialog. Don't know if this appear on other places.
Enter Password & Password
On password dialog

Only first 11 differing paks reported. There are probably more.
This one I can't find the correct string, I tested different ways but no success.
You'll have to find it how to translate it. It appears on find mismatch dialog.

One question how I can reproduce the strings:
Convoy already deleted!
Title: Re: Strings missing in SimuTransLator
Post by: prissi on December 18, 2010, 07:54:21 PM
"Convoy already deleted!" you can, if you delete a convoy another computer deleted at the same time. Nearly impossible to do in real world situations.

And soon you can delete the additional ones too.
Title: Re: Strings missing in SimuTransLator

@an_dz: thanks for reporting.

You can trigger the convoy message in a network game by double-clicking on any button that deletes the convoy. Then two delete-commands are generated, where the second one obviously cannot delete the convoy, since it is already gone.

Giuseppe,

sorry, just noticed your post. You need to look for the Simutrans-Experimental specific text set on Simutranslator. It's probably best to post issues regarding Simutrans-Experimental texts in the Simutrans-Experimental forum. Are you still having difficulties in finding it?

Those are pak-set dependent and should be defined in the pak set. Program text are not be part of paks, as those are provided by the program. But experimental may handle it differently, you need to ask this in the experimental section.

This is partly because the object name is already English and therefore no translation necessary.
An object reference code is not an object name. It looks horribly unprofessional.

And I will respond the same way I have responded to everyone else who posts this. The objects listed for pak128 in the translator do not match the objects that exist in pak128 (all the way types are missing, only the old identifiers exist for them which are no longer used) and there is no functionality to add objects from what I can see as an anonymous user. How can people even try to translate pak128 into non-English languages using the translator if it does not even let them select all the objects.

Hence why I resorted to manual modification of pak128 en.tab file, which is the only reason why most English names in pak128 are sensible.

It can't be done logged in either. Objects can only be changed by maintainers as listed in the set info - for pak128, those are vsys and prissi. The number of mainainers is limited though, there can only be one maintainer and two co-maintainers - hence even I could not change objects for pak192.comic.
There are some other issues as well - eg. you cannot change the object reference (the new ways could probably use the same translations as the old ways, but you would have to copy-paste each entry for each language manually); You can not easily get rid of references no longer in the pak, etc. pp.

I think for everything besides simply adding one translation at a time, you are better off downloading all the translation files in tab format, so you can alter them with search&replace in a good text editor. Then delete everything up there, and upload it all anew. But that's something you need to be maintainer to do.

The object is for the care Maintainter and 2 CoMaintaintern. If this is not done from whatever reason is not my problem.
If the set people ignore the Translator, which applies to almost all, that's not my problem.

I have people sometimes noted.

But if the answer is we do not have time (similar to the Wiki) that is me sometime matter. Disinterest is also have an interest.

Clarify that please within their forums of set and not here.

And the CoMaintainter can set from Maintainter.

So there is an internal problem with you if they can not agree on competent people.

So you think I would be more competent than any of the current maintainers? Thanks! But the problem is not solved by replacing Flemmbrav with me, that's not how our development team works. Rather than that, would you please create a new Account for "Pak192Comic", mailadress "pak192comic[_at_]gmail.com", as a replacement for flemmbrav as an account solely for administrational work any team member may use (in addition to the private accounts for everyday translations)
If the simutranslator can't handle the needs of it's users it's not that the users have a problem, it's the program. But luckily, using a shared account circumvents that issue completely.

The following strings are missing:

From plant tree dialog (and others):
"Climate"
From Display Options:
"Reselect closes tool"
From finances window:
"Show finances for transport types"
From Goods List
"Average Speed"
"Bonus Multiplier"
From vehicle list:
"Available:" (Note: "Available" exists in simutranslator, but I guess is not the same string)
From sound settings (I think these are in the base.tab, just not imported):
"Select soundfont"
"Soundfonts are located in the music directory"
From options:
"Install"
From the install screen:
"Select one or more graphics to install (Ctrl+click):"
"The following graphics are unmaintained:"

Also, relatedly unrelated:

1) Can we make translatable the text that players first see when entering Simutrans ("This is Simutrans...", and specially important text like "For question and support please visit:"). I don't know if it is hardcoded for historical reasons or other.
2) Same question for pak selector. But I understand this is more difficult (and not as important), because right now language selection goes after pakset selection.

The installer cannot be translated, because the translations are only available after a pak is selected.

"Available:" should be "Available". That was a typo from Dwachs recent conversion.

"Reselect closes tool" is "Reselect closes tools"

"Average Speed" is not in the code, "Bonus Speed: %i km/h" is the relevant one. (But somehow this got changed to Average Speed: %i km/h)

So the only one missing is Climates and Install ...

Fixed the typos in the code in r10298. Thanks for investigating.

pakHajo -> is maintained?

Yet more strings, this time from build city buildings dialog:

"Month"
"Year"
"Retire Date" (from sort by combobox, there's a similar string in simutranslator)
"auto" (from Rotation combobox)

Also: I doubt "Use timeline for year:" is the correct string in this context.

One could indeed use the "timeline" string for that button. Done, "Retire date" would have been correct. Thanks again. Sumbitted the hopefully correct string.

1) When doing a non-valid merging of stops, a tooltip appears with the text: "Das Feld gehoert". The full text seems to be "Das Feld gehoert\neinem anderen Spieler\n" (which is in SImutranslator), but it is not translated, neither it is shown fully anyway because of the line jumps (so this probably needs to be moved to a new string?).

2) "Too far away to merge stations!"
3) "Revert schedule"
4) "Revert to original schedule"
5) "Invert stops"
6) "Mirrors order of stops"
7) "Enter intervall in days, hours minutes" (NOTE the typo and the improvable time formatting with a ":" between hours and minutes)
