Title: what are the best Mods for this pak?
Post by: o0Julia0o on August 04, 2013, 08:41:02 AM
hi :) i am from germany and i like this pak at most. It looks most realistic, too. I wan´t to play in LAN 1vs1 in a endless-game.

but i heared that there aren´t many mods for this pak. The most mods are for comic192.

i wan´t to have:
-more industrie(with complex treeing)
-more vehicles
-more complex & harder economy

are the some of the mods availaible for the german128.pak?

thx

julia :)

You might be able to use some mods for pak128 (or pak128.Britain) with it? Or copy some vehicles if you like particular ones from those paks.

There was an addon site but that's not been kept up to date I think (infact it now seems to be completely offline), some larger sites with addons are:
http://www.simutrans-france.fr.nf/doku.php?id=en:projets (http://www.simutrans-france.fr.nf/doku.php?id=en:projets)
http://pak128.jpn.org/ (http://pak128.jpn.org/)

You can also try playing pak128.Britain or pak128.Japan and see if there's any vehicles you like - then copy them across to your addons folder.

As far as I'm aware most of the pak128 paks are broadly speaking compatible - although you may run into issues with some vehicles looking a bit out of place.

The most mods are for comic192.

I seriously doubt that. ;) I'd say pak128 standard (or maybe pak64 standard) probably have the most addons out there.

And there is no "best" since it all depends on what you like. You either like the look of an addon or you don't (100% depending on your personal taste). Some are well balanced, while others are completely off (to the point that some could be considered cheating). Again... depends completely on your personal taste, which of those you consider "good" for yourself.

Try putting them in your addons folder and seeing if they work - if they are they're compatible ;)

Hello o0Julia0o
 The addon from those website: http://www.simutrans-france.fr.nf/doku.php?id=en:industries it are in
part in Pak128.german useable.  The typ of goods in pak128.german it not the same as in pak128.
You must first test and look whether you have vehicles they can carry the goods. ::(

Each pakset has its own guidelines. Idustry chains, goods lists, vehicle dimensions etc. are pakset specific. Compatibility testing would cost a lot of time. Developers rather want to advance with their own set.

If you are interested in Czech, Slovak and Austrian vehicles (especially trains), you can find a lot of them in pak128.cz here: http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?board=138.0

They are compatible with pak128, so I suppose that they will work also in pak128.german.

Hello Vladki & o0Julia0o
I have make a quickcheck and get a very bad news!
The Factoryaddons out french are not useable with the pak128.German.
The addons need to many part out pak128 to work.
And the the parts out the pak128.cz are not useable with pak128.German.
The same problem gives by pak128.cz too.
The Goodsystem are are too different! Only a very good devloper can that do. :-[

Well if the cargo system is different, than you can use at least the train engines from pak128.cz combined with german cargo wagons. Passenger/mail vehicles should be compatible among pak128.anything.

I know that it's blame of goods.wain.pak and goods.Wain.pak.
You need to change the file name of a goods.(French) wine.pak

BTW,smoke.paks often be cause of a error in this work.

in fact, there are not many to PAK128.GERMAN, so I play the standard version of pak128 ... but if you do as you want, as this upgraded this site:
