Title: Rail signals
Post by: Mr.Spissky on February 15, 2017, 07:57:07 PM
Hi! Can anyone please make a guide or something for rail signals in this pak? Like how they work and where to place them for their full effect. Would be happy for any help and I hope I made my self clear.  :)

Do you have a link to it? Or does anyone else have it?

Are you referring to the Standard version or the Simutrans-Extended version? The signalling is very different in Standard compared with Extended.

Simutrans 120.1.3 so standard I guess

In that case, the rail signals on this pakset work in the same way as any other pakset, and a general Simutrans signalling tutorial should help.

Ok, but do you know where I can find one? A link would be nice.  :)

I do not know the links off the top of my head, so I should have to search for them in the same way as you if I were to find them. I know that there are some video tutorials, however, so you might want to search Youtube.

A quick search on youtube gave these results:

Just be aware that there might be some Extended signals in the results as well  :)

I can't understand descriptions of rail signals. In other paksets (and in u2b tutorials) there are called for example Basic singal and pre-signal. Which ones should I choose to obtain each of theses two above from the following available:
?

The names that you give, "lq semaphore distant", appear to be the untranslated base text names, suggesting that you do not have translation texts installed, or you are using a language for which no translation of the signals is available. In the case of the former, I recommend checking that you have installed the pakset correctly.

If you are using the Simutrans-Standard version of this pakset, it may be that the translation texts have not been updated for the improved signal objects. In any event, in simple terms, assuming that you are using Simutrans-Standard, the following naming scheme obtains:

"... distant": pre-signal;
"...junction": choose signal; and
"...stop": basic signal.

I hope that this helps.
