Title: mixing paksets
Post by: acki on December 27, 2014, 12:33:01 AM
Hi,
I used to play simutrans a while ago, and throughout the months accumulated bits and pieces of different paksets into one. But I noticed when reinstalling the latest version of simutrans that i cant mix pak128 and pak128britain anymore; simutrans gives me an error message saying something like too many images... Did anything change in the way pak128 britain is compiled? It seems like the pak files dont correspond to the files in the regular pak128 set...

thx

Too many images might be due to the 65536 sprite limit in the current release. Developers are working on increasing the limit by using a 32bit index however that is currently only available in nightlies and might not be completely bug free (people reporting weird sprite mixup issues).

As far as I am aware pak128 and pak128.britain are developed separately and so not designed with cross-compatibility in mind.

New versions of pak128 have different rail vehicle alignment too so will look strange in game alongside pak128.Britain vehicles.
