when is going to load a server can be seen a small map with its statistics.
that such if we take this idea for apply it in list of saved games. This would give more information of the game to be will loaded.
here my humble example (picture / image) --> http://www.mediafire.com/i/?wcyzdjkuqc9czzw (http://www.mediafire.com/i/?wcyzdjkuqc9czzw)
This will be very good to have. Not only it is useful, it improves feel of the game to more modern and user friendly one.
Nice idea. Now we need an implementation...
The writing part is more or less there. Could be easily added with an extension. Just how to display? Maybe tooltip style like, or with a preview window on top?

would also it would look good on the right side.

Yes, but it will not be possible to have an image on the right hand side for every map - so there should be a way of selecting which map is being previewed...
many of the pictures in simutrans are on the right side
But processing many savegames will take huge amounts of times and make the list very large on the screen.
About processing time: map could be saved already as 128x128 thumbnail at the beginning or end of the file, so that it could be directly copied to screen.
Alternatively, saves' thumbnail and statistics could be cached in a background thread.
But anyway, I don't like too much having a thumbnail for each save.
There could be instead a space at the top of the dialog with thumbnail (on the right) and map statistics (on the left), the values would be read from the save hovered by the mouse pointer (but in this case the save name or button should change in order to display the hover status).

that such if we make the minimap dropdown, with a button of details on the right.
as this example --> http://www.mediafire.com/i/?x52thn1j09oe29m
While I agree that information about the savegames, especially in-game time, should be added, I do not think that a minimap is necessary. Basically if I would have all my savegames in one folder, it would generate 2 different minimaps (a few pixels aside), nothing to do any decision on. Furthermore, I wouldnt even recognize my own maps from the minimap, I have no idea how my 2000x2000 or my 3000x3000 maps look like.
