Does anyone here know the quickest way to get rid of a bunch of trees?

what will you build that's need a big clear area?
Trees are cut when building on a tile, hence I don't see much point in specifically clearing a forest area.
A suggestion I posted a few years ago: by building the cheapest road and immediately removing it with Z, all trees there are gone. I used it often alongside railways but only as an eyecandy!
