Title: Another Gorgeous Japanese Train.
Post by: ASV62 on March 29, 2013, 06:21:05 AM
Spent some time on Simutrans as holiday begins, working on the save to expand network and found that I need to "dot" new trains again to fulfill my need.

Here come the Kintetsu Series50000 "Shimakaze", Well begun is half done  ;D

Pretty, indeed. It's a nice start, considering that more stuff are to come.

But still, I miss "smoother" lines, some kind of anti-alias as said here: http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=11635.msg114464#msg114464

Igor > It's hard to render smoother AA-like graphics dot by dot on MSpaint. Rescaling graphics to create smoother textures just **** up the whole thing. I've been using MSpaint to "render" model and PhotoImpact to create more gradients of colours for some years.

Till now, 21 / 40 of it's graphic is completed, also dat file. So I gave it a try in game (It's slower than expected as I went cycling in heavy rain yesterday thus making myself very tired)

You may notice there is smoother colour at the bottom of the tail car. 3 gradients are used but now I have to re-render the 4th layer to boost the magic effect!
