Thank you for the report. I can't reproduce this, I'm afraid: what exactly happens when you try to rotate? Do you have a saved game in which you can reliably reproduce this?

Hmm - still can't reproduce, I'm afraid, when creating a map with the settings shown in the initial post and then rotating.

Why do you suspect this to be specific to Windows 8?

I can rotate it fine within win8.

Ahh, that video was very helpful - using those exact steps and that pakset, I was able to reproduce the crash, which is now fixed on my Github branch. Thank you for the report!
