Title: Concerning connection of factories
Post by: Václav on May 23, 2013, 12:53:01 PM
When new chain is built (or chain is extended), then some factories are built new - and some already being factories are connected to currently built chain (if it is enabled).

And I ask: What is base factor for re-usage of factories? Because sometime some (mostly source) factories are re-used so much that their production cannot supply all connected factories.

I think it would be good to scale down such re-usage, and not a little. I know it can be set - but still it seems be too much.

I thought reusage was based on free capacity, in other words that new factories were only built if existing factories had no free capacity or were out of range, but I have begun to doubt it.

... were out of range
This is quite strange. Sometime it seems like range is free (but I often don't care about distance between factories). Else, on map with size 1280*1115, factories in one contract could not be distant over half of map's width.

The default maximum distance for connected factories is 25 % of map size, but can be changed in simuconf.tab. It is also possible to set an absolute distance limit if the relative limit is not set.
