Title: Why don't monorail/maglevs have longblock signals?
Post by: Spacethingy on July 18, 2013, 11:26:04 AM
In pak64 at least, maglevs and monorails don't have longblock signals. Is there any reason for this, or was that an oversight?

It's quite annoying when building urban monorail routes to replace trams, as there's no way of spacing the vehicles.

I tried to look at the wiki's guide to adding signals but it's quite unintelligible to me...  ;D

Yes this is entirely a pakset issue.

It might have something to do with the fact that long block signals are associated with old single tracked railroads, not modern maglevs and monorails.

You can also not pass a longblock signal at high speed. It will be always passed at much lower speed than the maglev is capable (same for a choose signal that would require choosing).

But it is easily added, just draw something based on the existing signal and add "is_longblocksignal=1" to the dat file.
