Ok, a little help fact checking here... if I was running a server game, and wanted to make 1 real day = 1 game year.... I know to set the server to run with no clients connected.
I think what I am looking for is some help with bits/month. Yup, math problem.
1 day = 86400000000 . So how can I set the bits/month to get really close to this value.
(Yup, exclusive of server downtime).
bits per month = 23 will give 28 real hours per game year.
2^23 real ms per game month.
Is that bit exponent a float or an int? ;D
And just for options (and for others), how about 2 years per real day?
Sorry, it's just an int. So 28 hours is as close as you can get.
bpm=22 would be 14 real hours per game year. As close as you can get to 2 years/day.
Although when you server pause when nobody is connected, then these time will obviously increase. This can help to increase the time further.
If you decide to play such long games, you need to decrease city growth considerably, maybe by a factor of ten or more. You have to do this before actually creating the map!
