I was watching a series of Let's-play of Banished... I think you people might want to see.

"In this city-building strategy game, you control a group of exiled travelers who decide to restart their lives in a new land. They have only the clothes on their backs and a cart filled with supplies from their homeland. The townspeople of Banished are your primary resource."

I've had this for a while and it's quite interesting indeed. The basic mechanic is somewhat different from other city-builders in a sense that it's less about construction and planning and more about continuous management of goods and people. Though I'm more a build-and-forget kind of player at least in simutrans, the survival aspect in Banished is well balanced and very appealing.
Also, a notable thing about this game is that it's done completely from start to finish by one person. Simply amazing.
