Title: Multiple companies, and one goes bankrupt
Post by: BBGunn on May 12, 2014, 03:43:38 AM
Hello, mighty Simutrans users!

I have a question for you on this wonderful Monday.  Say you have a game, and you are playing with multiple transport companies.  Most of the companies are doing well, but one company has squandered all of its money and is about to go bankrupt.

I know that if there is only one human player, it's "You are bankrupt" and you get sent back to the main menu.  But if there are multiple companies, what happens?  Does the bankrupt company's assets (stations, vehicles, tracks, etc.) simply disappear, or do they remain in place, never to be used again?  Or does the entire game end, regardless of if the other companies are still in the black or not?

For the game I'm currently playing, it would be nice if the bankrupt company would go bankrupt and simply disappear, in order to allow other companies to come in and "take over its territory", so to speak.

Companies disappear; however, if there are tunnels or bridges occupied with other companies vehicles (or deletion fails for another reasons) those parts become public ownership.

I see.  Excellent - thank you!
