After saving a game I can't load it anymore because of the following fatal error message.
Using R2391 with pak128/535
This error is common with either corrupted saved game files, or saved game files from a later version attempting to be loaded from a previous version.

How can one prevent a file to become corrupted?

.... or saved game files from a later version attempting to be loaded from a previous version.
Only the stated version (R2391/P128_535) was used.
I can become corrupt by either switching a bit on harddisk or by switching a bit in the meory before it was written onto the harddisk or by an error of the map during saving which wrote the wrong informations. (The latter can be prevented by XML-Savegames, which have a better chance of debugging and recovering lost maps but are twice as large. Switch it on in your simuconf.tab).

I'd like to but cannot find where. I found only one entry concerning saving:
# "binary" means uncompressed, "zipped" means compressed
saveformat = zipped
I think it is saveformat=xml
BTW, the problem is happening at very first position of the savegame file.
On your screenshot, reading city is already fault.
Error log file should have more detail information about it.
moving this to incorporated as the thread opener did not respond, assuming it is fixed
