Title: British railways livery obsolete in 1986 ??
Post by: Vladki on January 23, 2020, 07:08:52 PM
livery_scheme[0] = British-Railways
retire_year[0] = 1986
retire_month[0] = 6

Perhaps I'm not well educated in british railway history, but I thought that the privatisation of british railways happened in 90's or after 2000...

You're right about the date of privatization (~1996), but there's more than one way to operate a public sector railway. In 1986 the nationalized railway was divided into sectors (InterCity, Regional Railways, Railfreight, etc.), so the single livery scheme for all trains was (and in Sim-Ex is) replaced by different livery schemes for each sector.

Matthew is correct - the BR corporate livery was replaced by sectorisation era liveries in the 1980s.
