Title: Transparent elevated monorails?
Post by: kazarmy on February 29, 2020, 09:32:21 AM
Can there be a way for elevated monorails to be transparent, using the same trick as for buildings? The problem is illustrated by the following image:

The image has 4 paper trucks but only 2 of them can be seen easily.

Another reason is that while monorails are great for reducing city traffic (and are profitable), the traffic itself can't be observed easily with monorail structures covering key roads. Savegame is attached.

You can use the sliced view mode (strg+u in most paksets) to hide anything above the slice level, including elevated ways.
A transparent view mode for any elevated way would be indeed useful but it's not possible yet.

Indeed, I think the problem is covered but the sliced view. Bridges would have the same problem.

Thanks! Sliced view isn't the most optimal solution (there's a big hole where the hill used to be) but it's good enough.

Never use sliced mode when you have a big explosives factory on a hill! ;-)
