The team of PAK128.german is pleased to announce a improved full of our graphics set for Simutrans 122.0. It is playable from the year 1800 on and orientates itself as before both in relation to the vehicle park as well as with regard to the buildings, driveways and landscape elements to Germany. The chronology (timeline) is characterized by a strong focus on the real history of Germany - even if the set can not and does not reflect exactly the actual development of the economy and transport systems.

Attention: this Version 2.0 works only with Program Simutrans Version 122.0 and higher!
Download the file from SF here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/simutrans/files/PAK128.german/PAK128.german_2.0_for_ST_122.0/)

Differences to version 1.3

The versions 1.0 to 1.3 had uniform prices for the operating costs of the vehicles.

This will apply again for version 2.0 and its successor. However, the operating costs per tile were reduced from around 30% of the income to 15%. For this, there are now fixed costs per time of around 1% of the income. That may seem like little, but this 1% also applies when the vehicle is waiting to be charged and even when it is unused in the depot. If there is slow progress on a route, if weak motorized goes uphill, if there is a traffic jam, then these new 1% fixed costs still apply. That can definitely depress a line's return. On the other hand, low utilization is no longer as detrimental to profit.

In version 2.0 there are now double height levels, which is intended for real mountains like the Alps.
In the future there will be a new map of Germany with high mountains, which will present real problems for transport routes.
However, there is still some work to be done and will therefore be added in a later version.

Supporters and enthusiasts of the old price system can continue to play version 1.3.
Apart from the operating costs and the double height levels, the differences between 1.3 and 2.0 are small.

PAK128.german Version 2.0

The Scenario contain a extended map of Germany with the starting year 1800.
This is based on a real map. The heights and regions are nearly correct. The main cities are in the right places and are roughly modeled. The map also contains the Alps and parts of Austria and Switzerland, as well as the southern edge of the Alps with parts of northern Italy. The starting point of the project was the Alps as a traffic obstacle and the difficult routing of transit routes through mountains.

In the folder SaveGames are saved three saves, as a suggestion.

On our homepage  https://www.pak128-german.de/ there are additional Information to all objects. Tips for switching with saved games from older versions to this one. Addons, previews of future versions and saved scores.

The Team hope you enjoy Simutrans as much as we do.   :)

Thanks for this version:

Update 21.10.2020

Sorry, the version of 19.09.2020 has some little nasty bugs.
Especially, the README files are completely out of date.

That's why I uploaded an improved version today. If you downloaded version 2.0 before October 21, 2020, you should download the pak again.

I plan to start a new game on the server with this version 2.0 release in the next few days.

The aim is, if a player plays the normal release, he should be shown a compatible game when he clicks on the network symbol. In order for this to work, there will probably only be a new release Pak128.german when a new program release appears.

A new beta 2.1 will probably be out soon, but there will likely be many beta 2.1 versions before a new release comes out.

I like to go in sync with the program, if only because of the auto installer.
