Title: How to stop my train from driving by sight on single-track lines?
Post by: Donald C. on December 25, 2022, 04:05:07 PM
As far as I know, trains will no longer drive by sight only if it encounters any signal within certain distance. For early railway lines though, all the signals are mono-directional, which cannot be used on single-track lines.

What type of signalling system to use will depend on the era and the number of trains that you need to be using the line (i.e., 1 or more than 1). For early times if you only need one train to be using the entire line at once, use a one train staff cabinet at the exit of the depot. In later times, if you want more trains running, you can use token block signalling or time interval with telegraph.
