Title: Standard serverlist has moved
Post by: prissi on September 27, 2024, 05:45:11 AM
As the provider of the Serverlist (not Isaac) had again(!) messed up the IP6 connectivity, I have finally enough and moved to serverlist to another server.
https://servers.simutrans-forum.de/list (http://servers.simutrans-forum.de)
I have asked Issac to change the DNS entry for servers.simutrans.org. But the game will use the new server automatically should the old server not respond (in new enough releases since 142). So for finding servers ingame nothing will change. By web, use the above link.

And I was finally able to get the DNS updated this morning. :)

I appreciate the note that - for once - I'm not the cause of a server problem. hehehe.  I'm glad things seem to be more stable on my end for now :)

I am just looking at this now, having not been able to do anything much with Simutrans lately owing to long-overrunning building works at home. Can I ask whether it would be possible to revive the Extended list server in the same way?

I think that is (was?) running on the "backup" server, which probably means it's a DNS issue in that not quite all of the DNS entries made it over to the new server. Can you kindly remind me of what subdomain name(s) were associated? I'll set up the DNS records necessary. My apologies for having to ask and for losing that data!

Don't worry - thank you very much for running the server. It was running at http://list.extended.simutrans.org:8080/ .

Thank you again, and I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas. Happy new year!

Working on finding the right DNS zone and adding as where I've put it isn't propagating. Will update when I figure it out. I do thank you all for your incredible patience!

Happy New Year! Hopefully fixed by then. heh

Thank you! Do let me know when you have it running.

In the meantime, happy new year!

It should start to work - I found where to change it now. Good news is at least I'm learning things! ...slowly...

(Propagation - maybe an hour and most places should have it. If the reader of this comment does not, something caches your DNS longer - sorry - out of my control - will update within a day almost certainly for you)
