Title: JIT 0 and Grain Farms
Post by: Engineer_Scotty on May 14, 2025, 03:22:59 PM
I am using Simutrans 124.3.1 with a modified pak 64.  I am playing with just in time parameter set at 0; I do not want demand impacting production. I set crossconnect_Factories to 1. There should be a lot of demand for grain.

I had a Grain Farm stop producing grain. I thought JIT=0 would prevent Grain Farms from ever stop producing grain? Am I misinterpreting this?

I searched for this answer but couldn't find it - under industries Consumptions it shows AA/BB(NN)/CC; I understand what AA, BB, CC is, what does NN show?

I quit the game and restarted it; weirdly the game started using day and night cycles. I quit the game again and when I tried to restart it the game crashed. Unfortunately I don't have a saved copy of the game.

The game night settings are the default settings and can be switched under the display options. That the game reverted to these settings means that the settings could not been saved which should not happen ... (unless the extended edits were used, where is also an option for this).

And JIT=0 does not prevent from stopping production, if the station connected to the Grain farm is full and the storage at the grain farm is full. JIT=0 means just, it will produce as long as there is empty storage to put products. JIT=1 takes care of how many goods are in transport. And JIT=2 tries harder to predict the future demand and order production accordingly.
