In order to resolve the hypothetical issue of humongously bazilliardic amount of trucks mentioned by zook2 in the recipe-based manufacturing post, i suggest adding emission norms to each vehicles and era.
- Either explicit emission class like "EURO 1" or "EURO 2", or implicit calculation from fuel type, current vehicle (era) exhaust filtering effectiveness, and fuel efficiency.
- Either unfixed, calculated from running time per year and deducted at the end of the year, or deducted each month by the fact of having these vehicles in use. The second solution is based on the fact that nobody, in sane mind, would scramble to withdraw convoys every month to avoid the fines
Fine these 1980 steam trucks users to ashes! Comes with a bonus of forcing people to actually use their trucks (and other vehicles) efficiently and responsively.
Matthew, i know what you are gonna say, that ze whole server economy is gonna collapse because it runs on these forgotten steamers, but i believe that it is a much bigger issue to actually find a way to liquidate these companies in the first place. Their budget is usually so fat they just won't die peacefully
