Title: r11790 constant server crash
Post by: FLN on November 04, 2025, 07:27:34 PM
I let a server run with the nightly r11790 today and experienced constant crashes within 20sec - 2min of starting a map.
Have no clue, what the cause might be.
Attached two log-files here, of two crashes.

I cannot confirm that.

Lot's of broken translations but essentially no log (probably too low log level).

Meanwhile I was able to test this on a separate server (https://servers.simutrans.org/list#:~:text=Temporary%20Test%20Server) with the same outcome.

I have no influence on the server's log-file, but I could provide a client-side log-file, if this would be useful.
What log level should it be?

It would be more helpful if you described what you were doing before the crash. And is it the server or the client that is crashing?

And what program files are you using?

[edit]

Okay, this time their server became unreachable after about a month of gameplay.

-debug -log 3

Should be fixed by r11791. The reason for the crash was that the function for determining whether a powerline could be removed did not account for the player being NULL; this could happen when trying to build buildings (also station extensions) below power lines.

I have again incorported the chnged to not overgrow powerlines (and fields). I also tried to stronger enforce renovation percentages and minimum density percentages in r11794. Please test.
