Loading a game and found that the time and jumped forwards from April 1971 to June 1979. This is playing the New York scenario. The reason for this being the older version of Simutrans is that pak128 save files are not compatible between 124.2 and 124.3.
It may have occurred towards the end of previous time playing and I didn't notice then, but I hadn't been playing for very long and didn't notice the new vehicles appear. Since this is the scenario I don't have access to the public player and therefore I don't think it possible to manually increase time even accidentally.

Is this the file before the save?
In principle, the files should be very compatible, especially for such a small step in version. I rather expect a script error between different versions.
I don't have access to an earlier save, but upon loading the file provided you will notice the date is June 1979. If you look at messages the previous messages all were for April 1971.

This is a bug where new messages are no longer saved after a while.

This has only recently been fixed (r11690/94).
I think it was also a case that I had missed the appearance of a couple of new vehicles and so was surprised when I saw them in the depot.
