Title: Wooden Freight Cars
Post by: destructulus on May 29, 2026, 09:50:12 PM
These are a collection of wooden freight cars for early railroads. There is not really any balance with the costs, but I tried to make the weight and capacities reasonable.

I hope these are enjoyable and fit with the pak. I have no idea how one goes about having things added to the official repo, but I'm happy to make tweaks towards that end!

You may test how they fit with pakset by yourself. Download PakHelper (or even TileCutter), newest MakeObj, copy *.dat files and *.png files - and after making pak files (and their moving to correct folder), just play to see if they fit.

I am now in year 1976 and it is a bit late for testing your vehicles.

When you would create electric vehicles, there may be problem with elevation of catenaries' wires. There are two sets - but both have wires very high upon surface (so, original trains and trams don't touch those wires at all).

Wires on my catenaries may be changed a little - but it would lead to need to change my trains and trams. But still original trains and trams would not touch wires at all. So, new electric trains (better fitting to catenaries height) are needed at all.

Oh yes, I've been using them myself, but I want to make sure that I'm not biased towards my own creations c;

I'll keep the tram info in mind--I may try my hand at one since I tend to use them a lot in other paksets.

Well, let's say that pakset would deserve also post cars for various years and after 2000 without retirement. There are some gaps between some cars.

To trams - well, my ones may be very great in comparison with few original ones, but on other hand, those original ones are smaller than buses - and it is nonsense (because even historical trams are greater than minibuses - and for example Tatra T3 is ). So, it would be good to continue on using my trams even if they are not perfect (they would deserve at least re-colouring or even minor pixelart to take them their ugliness). They also would need minor re-balancing.

When I prepared those trams, I balanced them few times to get current situation. But may it be that they would deserve lower running cost (again) to keep profitable even lower occupancy. Currently, some lines with lower occupancy are not profitable - even if they could be.
