Post by: PlayTrans2009 on September 03, 2009, 06:59:06 AM
Yes, in Singapore, garbage trucks collects garbage can in homes and dumpsters at shopping malls. So, will you agree?

Garbage collection is done house-by-house and building-by-building. It's not practical to simulate this in Simutrans currently.

There's an old waste chain for pak64 at Simutrans sourceforge download page. The point is that I don't remember if it's compatible with the latest version of the game.

i recall a chain also for pak128. it was discussed to make it like mail (every building producing some and collected at stops), but for some reason this was dumped. so far, it's only a chain

dump --> incinerator (power)

or

dump --> recycling plant (glass/paper/steel)  (not present yet)

Two things:

1) I don't know to make a new cargo system
2) I don't know how to make trains and trailers.

PlayTrans,

The best ways to find out are:
1) Look on the wikis: http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Creating_addons and http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=de_dat-Dateien&bl=y
2) Look at pak64/pak128.Britain SVN to see how it is done there: http://simutrans.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/simutrans/

Then try and do something similar (feel free to start with a pak128.Britain dat file and then modify it as you want for your uses).  Most of your questions will be answered by looking at one of those I think!

The Hood, I try to be kind and I like your pak128.Britain. And, I'm going to convert pak128 into pak96.comic

This topic was discussed before: City buildings producing goods an waste (http://archive.forum.simutrans.com/topic/01736.0/index.html)

The pak64 waste add-on is available here (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=103.msg586#msg586). It covers only transport of waste from several cities' intermediate waste dumps to a central facility (incinerator).

EDIT: improved spelling
