Title: Missing files message
Post by: Václav on May 22, 2010, 08:13:05 PM
I play on Windows and so I don't know what is statement in other OS but I think it can be similar. Simutrans still needs better messages for situation when any file (object) is missing and is needed to end game.

Current style is not quite good.

Of course, two similar messages would be needed - one for starting of program and the second one for loading of saved game.

I think this was not discussed but I am not sure.

In the next nightly (r5082) you will be able to load savegames in the case factory paks are missing. I think this is the far most common missing-file fatal error. In particular for pak128 ...

Oh, ..., Dwachs, what you write is surely good patch (even if there is any factory in the game that can replace missing factory ... and so game can go on) but what I want is better style (face) of that message. Current one is a little confusing.

please try again with recent nightly: you will now get a window telling you which files are missing.
