Title: Strange behaviour of my Forestal Exploit
Post by: Envite on December 12, 2010, 08:14:16 PM
Hello all:

I've an strange behaviour in Simutrans 102.2.2

I've two stops attached to my Forestal Exploit (I'm playing in 1400 to use only the roughest types of transports) and I see that both stops are empty of materials, with long queues of carriages, while the Forestal Exploit is accumulating wood until it reaches 100, sending it to thestops at that moment. Then, it starts the normal way of sending accumulations of 10 wood to the stops, until it suddenly starts again accumulating.

Is that normal? Can it be prevented?

Thanks

It will stop producing in standard setting, when the sawmill is filled. This can be only prevented, when games are created without the "just_in_time" setting.

It does not stop producing, it just stops sending to stops, and when it's full then it send everything to stops at the same time

Ok, I was not precise enough. It will stop loading, if all possible destinations are filled.

Ok, so my problem is that its only destiny, the Sawmill, is full at the point in time in which the Forestal Exploit ceases sending to the stops. But it does not start again when the next carriage goes out of the Sawmill.

Well, anyway, I think I understand the problem a bit better now.

What does exactly the "just in time" setting do?

According to simuconf.tab:
Quote
with this switch on (default), overcrowded factories will not receive goods any more

That means when a factory is overcrowded (maximum stored 'consume' goods is reached), the factories that sends those products will stop filling the vehicles that send it to the first factory.

EX.:The vehicle that gets the petroleum from the oil rig will not load until the max stored petroleum in refinery gets stabilized.
