Question:
Should the next version of Simutrans-Experimental-Complete come with the MIDI music enabled by default?
Option 1: Yes
Option 2: No
I am planning to release a new version of Simutrans-Experimental-Complete based on the latest versions of Simutrans-Experimental and Pak128.Britain-Ex fairly soon, and am interested in people's views about default settings. In particular, what do people think about the Simutrans MIDI music? Do most people leave it on, or turn it off?
I am not a fan of it myself, but I should be interested in other people's views on the topic.
Someone should make a survey about how many people have music turned on in simutrans. I bet it would be less than 0,01 % :-D.
I don't call it "music". (And that's not even exp-specific...)
It's important for people who migrate from TTD, there (in the distant past) the first thing was always to turn off that annoying midi, since for some strange reason it never remembered that setting.

You don't have to agree with the musical choices made, but there is no reason to be mean.

The art is fine, but the technical means kill it. And end result is determined by the poorer part :(
I actually like it. I usually leave it on for the first 20 minutes of every game before it starts repeating. But I really don't care what the default is, as I have to go in to adjust the volume every time anyway.
1) Most people nowadays have their own media player - Running THEIR choice of music
2) The music seems to hang on some computers / operating systems
So I'm favoring turning it off by default, because if you want it, you can still turn it on, cant you :p
I have a huge playlist in my media player playing all the time including while playing Simutrans, so there's no scope for the midi music at all. Its never enabled.
