I'm using pak 128 and simutrans 102.2.2
I wonder if there is a possibility to realize something like this.
I've a factory X that needs two raw materials A and B. "-" indicates a railroad connection.
X---------------A--B
Is it possible to bring the raw materials B to the station of A and subsequently bring both goods with one train to X.
Maybe, the question can be formulated like this:
Is it possible to store multiple goods at a warehouse before transfering it to the final destionation?
Thanks
I have tried this several times and find that it only works well if the total volume is kept just below the total volume the train carries. At this level the train will fill with all material going to plant x, if the level of material gets above the train tends to load all one product.
EDIT: This also works better if the material from A & B are different categories,ie, bulk and piece goods requiring different rail cars.
Yeah, I did tried that as well. What I would like to realize is, that a truck carries material B to the station of the raw material A and subsequently a train carries both to the destination.
Know what I mean?
Same category works as well, one trick is to make station B shorter than station A, and adjust the load percentage accordingly. For example, if you have a 11 car train (so 12, with one loco), and station B is 3 tiles, while station A is 6 tiles, only the 5 first cars can get a load at station B, and the rest will load at station A. Just keep in mind that since only 5 cars can enter station B, 5/11 cars is a bit less than 50%.
EDIT: Just saw your last post Jack_311. That works too. Simutrans will transfer loads if it finds a route. You can do truck from B to A, and as long as the train has the right cars, it will transport the truck's load from A to X.
Awesome, didn't knew that. I'll try it these days and report :-)
Awesome, it works quite well :-)
