Might I suggest a means of selecting/highlighting multiple way tiles at once such that one can then perform actions on all of them simultaneously? This would be useful for a number of things: one could see the combined maintenance cost of all selected way tiles at once (to help with route budgeting), one could upgrade all selected way tiles all at once (and see in advance the total cost of doing so), one could transfer ownership of the selected way tiles to another player, or allow another player to run her/his vehicles over those way tiles and no others, or delete them all at once (and see in advance the cost of removing them and how much maintenance cost would be saved every month).
As to mechanism, one have a special "way select" tool, which one could click and drag as if one was building a way. Way tiles should have their tile borders highlighted with a thick line in a colour that can be set in simuconf.tab (default: bright red), and one could CTRL+click to deselect particular tiles.
It'd be really useful if tracks had some indication of which player owns them. With stations etc. you can easily see this since they have player colour on, but tracks/roads etc. don't tend to have player colour. A mode that highlights infrastructure in player colour to let you quickly see who owns what would be very nice.

This is a good idea indeed!
You can also add mile stones in player color to the tracks ...
I'd love to have an overlay (just a 3px line or something like that) showing ownership of ways.
