As the topic says -- for some, but not all vehicles, I get a crash when trying to bring up vehicle information.
This only appears to happen with a specific kind of vehicle -- but that vehicle never caused problems in previous versions.
Most times this just brings up a blank window with no crash information.
Carl,
what pakset are you using, and what sort of vehicle in that pakset triggers the crash?
It's pak64, and it's DMU train. The pak file the train uses is one that I've created using pakHelper (i.e. modified existing sources), but this is also true of many other vehicles which don't appear to result in this crash.
I've attached the .dat file which I *think* is associated with the train in question.
Thank you. Does it give an error message when it crashes, or does it just exit to the desktop?
There's an error message, but it's cropped in a strange way. See attached.
Note also that the information window does not display speed, line name or loading.
Ahh, this is another manifestation of a known bug reported here (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=7388.msg71207#msg71207). It arises out of the revised physics code; I have asked Bernd to look into it. Thank you for the report!
This should be mainly fixed in 9.8 (although an erroneous speed might well be shown in the depot window).
Thank you! Same-day bug fixes -- impressive! :)
