Title: [110.0.1] New Townhall notification too often
Post by: DaedalusYoung on June 09, 2011, 04:26:28 PM

Are their numbers fluctuating maybe? So it reaches the new townhall threshold, then they loose some inhabitants and the city grows again, reaching the threshold a second time?
Or is there like a 'soft zone' ranging from 4700-4900 or so in which the townhall may be updated, it just triggers multiple times?

Iirc this different messages are right, each new town hall represents a constructing stage of the new one.

Oh ok, but I can't remember seeing it on other numbers. For example, Baringstead also just upgraded in above screenshot, but they did only once. The difference being they're at 2000 inhabitants while Torville has twice as much.

No, for the lower numbers this is not the case, only for higher numbers.

Ok, I see. But then, it just looks weird. I would expect to see only one notification per major townhall change.

In addition, now that I look at it, does it seem like there's an extra space in the Message Centre right after each city's name?

This is a new town hall. The construction stages are implented a s new townhall for 4000, 4010, 4020, 4030 inhabitants. Thus the message is fully intended this way, as simutrans cannot know about the actual graphics.
