Title: Track type yearly maintenance?
Post by: Fraoch on August 29, 2011, 08:48:07 PM
Hello:

In the tools menus, way types (track, road, monorail etc.) have brackets beside them, for example:

"Wooden Sleeper Rails (Laid in Sand), 35.00¢ (4.00¢), 55 km/h"

The 4.00¢ in brackets - I'm guessing that's the yearly maintenance cost per km (i.e. per square)?  If so then I'd better re-evaluate all my high speed rail tunnels at 600.00¢ per km!:o

It is actually monthly, like you see in the finances dialogue.

Wow - OK, thank you.  I guess this means that even if a vehicle is making a profit, there may still be a (large) overall deficit to the company...

So that small tram running in high-speed tunnels underground from a single destination to another single destination that makes only a few thousand ¢ per year may be costing the company big-time.
