Title: Does Track quality affect acceleration?
Post by: Severous on October 09, 2011, 10:01:40 AM
Pak128 Unmodified.

This fully loaded train is pulling away from a station on straight and level track.  I doubt it will reach 30kp/h before it passes over the bridge.

Would it accelerate any faster if the bridge was better quality?

Locomotive: JNR-SL C11 = Top speed 73kp/h
Wagons: RVG Bulk = Top Speed 50kp/m
Station Track: Low Quality = Top Speed 65kp/h
Bridge: Wooden = Top Speed 30kp/h

Nope, track quality just puts a limit on the maximum speed, not at the acceleration.
