Title: Avenue road
Post by: gembul 53 on November 15, 2011, 10:09:39 AM
why simutrans not make an avenue road like in sim city? I think it would be great if simutrans  have an avenue raod, and it will be reduce traffic jam.

Because it will require a totally new object using the same textures from the double lane roads.
In Simutrans the objects are 2D and they are a set of images, this will enlarge the pakset sizes. Also will require new coding for this new road type

It doesn't work well yet, but the idea is create two parallel double-lane roads and use no-way/one-way signs on them.
Like create two one-way roads on SimCity.

just a side note, if a new road reduces traffic jam, the simulation is not good, and not reflecting reality.

here's the explanation why:
