Title: Streetlist_xx.txt 111.0
Post by: MHD on January 02, 2012, 11:16:25 PM
In the documentation of the 111.0 release, there is mentionned a streetlist_xx.txt, which will be used for stop names.
Now either in core text section nor in the pakfile, this file is included.

Could someone explain, how that works and where to store this file, when done? I couldn't find an information...
Additional question belonging to the tools for block reservation/owner of waytypes: How do you use this tool (Keyboard?)

Any name appearing in this list will take priority over any other game created halt names.

Ok, and this list is stored in game or pakset folder?

pakset I think.  For an example - pak128.Britain uses it.

It isn't - a random entry from the text file is chosen for every stop.

It is surely good - but I think that this would be a little improved - that this priority would be ignored if name of stop should be based on touristic attraction.

It's ok for me, because the names of the 'attraction stops' are only as good as the language file.
And some creative names for attractions are pain, when you read them in station names.

(I remember a time, when some attractions had wrong line-breaks, and then the whole text appeared in the station name)

For example? I would like to know few such ones.

But else, I think that the most painful is missing double-break between name of attraction and its description. When this is right, I hope that it would not be so bad.

Berlin, Medieval town hall
London, Church1
Paris, This radio station is one of the most popular.....
Madrid, Secession Chapel
(and so on, and so on....real station names are nicer)

Now I'm wondering if I want to use this for pak48.Excentrique.

"Starbeam lane"
"Jetstream avenue"
"Boulevard of the many lights"
"Arc de Spark"
"Bangflash overdrive"
"Corner of no return" ... uh ... really?
"Acceleration lane"
"Ion drive"
"Sonic ramp"
"Place de Magnotron"
"Transformer parking" ... <.<
"Sparkly dreamwalk"
"Lightning drive"
"Thunderspark speedlane"
"The blinkenlights"
"The nonblinkenlights"
"Everlasting twilight"
"Plaza of the big light"
"I see sparks"
"Time space square"

More to come ...

"Molecular connection"
"Spark condensor"
"Fusion square"
"Celestavideo"
"Pulsar squeeze"
"Swingby roundabout"
"Subsonic fields"
"Block of low frequencies"
"Flux line"
"Field line"
"Rise of the loud colors"

... brainfail. No, that isn't a street name.
