Aside from the obvious real world possibilities, I thought it was interesting to see trolly technology making a comeback.
Just check out the new power catchment pantographs instead of the unreliable poles used in the past.
I usually like to take inspiration for my near futuristic vehicles from these types of improved current technology. :D

If normal cars were to use that, they'd probably look like bumper cars. It would also be like that unspeakable movie involving two plumbers.
