Title: Variable Final Consumer Cargo Demand
Post by: colonyan on June 13, 2012, 04:33:15 PM
What it would like be if we were able to make certain final consumers to demand their goods in variable manner?
Expample: Food market demanding 100t in 1911, but only 40t in 1912.

Following situation would be possible.

- Freight revenue becoming less stable
- Peak time and off time use of way infrastructure
- Infra planning for peak time usage.
- Challenge for how to allow user to detect high demand time. Line freight level could be the reference maybe?

Then next. Cause and type of the variation.

- Independent, not caused by any other element.
- Dependency on other value. Such as Chain X not supplied enough.

Could be applied for passenger and mail generation in a city too for a period of time such as 1/2 or 1 year period.

maybe tie it to global population?

I have hard time connect what you said and what I wrote, my brain isn't functionning propery now.
So I guess you mean bigger get total map population gets, bigger becomes the demand under designated value?

What I was aiming was more for individual entity, such as final consumer or even a city which generates passenger and mail, to demand or generate cargo/passenger in different manner, either completely in random manner or dependent on other trigger in the map.

I've not looked into the scripted scenario code yet but maybe it could be added there (thinking particularly of conditions).
