EDIT: I confused dialogues. Options is the one with new game etc. You ment the extended/advanced settings?
Anyway, some places usings settings, some options. The display stuff is called Options in my translation file. Aparently it just was changed recently.
Well, settings is for parameters one can set and tune. I meant the dialog with various options like "New game", "Load game", "Display" (setting and debug information), "Players" (listing and configuration), "Quit" and more.
Though I seem to remember a discussion about this not too long ago, perhaps when Hajo was bringing up lots of user interface related topics. I don't remember if "Options" was ruled in or out as a good title back then, and I don't have time to look it up now.
