The game currently only shows downstreams on the minimap, and although this works great for producer industries, it does not work for consumer industries like power stations.
The only quirk here would be finding a colour that works well with the minimap.
Downstreams are in white, which is easy enough to see, but something like black would be quite hard to see.
I will suggest grey, B0B0B0 or C0C0C0, which should be visible on the minimap, yet still distinguishable from white.
Did you try with shift? ;)
:o
another hidden feature I wasn't aware of.
There is just one problem I noticed. the minimap is very sluggish when shift is held down.

People haven't been TL;DR'ing help texts again.
*le sigh*
still it would be nice an EXPLICIT option to show them, with shift reversing it.
Default could be upstream and downstream are shown. Pressing shift or ctrl will hide up or downstream.

well, to defend myself, I didn't think shift was used as a modifier key. I thought it was only ctrl :)
Oo, that's useful! Thanks! I guess it's doubly hidden, as you've got to know to have the industry layer on first...
