Title: Huge stores.
Post by: AvG on September 13, 2013, 05:51:59 PM
In DCR you need huge amounts of certain materials to build road and track.
On a large map you need therefore several large stores.
In the simutrans system this is very tricky. Changing a vehicle in the chain can mean the loss of thousands of tons.
I want to do something on that by making stores the way industries are working. So input-material = output material.
This seems however not possible.
Is this restriction made on purpose??
Can it easily being changed??

I made a work around by using temporarily names so you get stone >> stone_a and stone_a >> stone. It works, but I don't like it.

Hmm - the code in this respect is unaltered from Standard. This is a somewhat unusual application of the industry concept. Would it not be better to use intermediate stops with large warehouses? It is not entirely clear what you are seeking to achieve.
