Title: Lightmap generator and half-height?
Post by: CooLeR on July 15, 2014, 06:46:12 PM
Hello all,

Can lightmap generator generate lightmap for half-height too? I want to test some stuff on 192 tile size but I need it with half-height ( I don't want to paint it myself :O )

And is it produces texture-shore and and texture-slope or how must I "paint" it?

And what about cursor and borders? How can I paint it? ( I think rotations and positions) Or is it generated?

Not sure about a Lightmap Generator, but I can provide you with some files used for pak192.comic.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wu1ktn73ad62js3/AABkU9Y5fn0AbLq1EdUj4mKJa

Included are the lightmap, slope walls, and the tile border/marker.

Currently I don't have access to the texture-shore and texture-slope we use, but they are the same size for all paks. You could use those of pak64 - http://sourceforge.net/p/simutrans/code/HEAD/tree/pak64/ground/

Thanks a lot Leartin! :) Can I use it lately as open source under artistic license (lightmap, borders and marker)?

ah, the licensing stuff... as far as I am concerned, you may apply any licence you want.

You see, there are technical requirements for these kinds of graphics. If you made them yourself, 90%* of what you'd do would be following the requirements, making it at least 90% the same as any other lightmap, border or marker in existence. I wonder if the threshold of originality could even be reached.

The lightmap generator was tested until pak256 though.
