Title: Starting servers with script
Post by: prissi on July 09, 2020, 04:22:31 AM
No servers with scripts:
I think this is because nobody knows how to set up a server with scripts as intended. Even I am not sure how to do this on the commandline.

To get server running with script: Create map, create a scenario, load map and scenario, save the game, then start the server with this savegame

Step 2 "create a scenario" is still unclear to me. Do you mean loading one of the scripts?

I think there is more need for some end user .documentation.

Assuming someone, who is not a programmar but wants to host a simutrans server, wants to use the region script with an existing map. What would he/she/it needs to do exactly?

1) Create the map (without server)
2) Choose a scenario, e.g., https://forum.simutrans.com/index.php/topic,17927.0.html  It will now use the currently running game.
3) Save the game.
4) Reload the map with starting a server. This should reload the savegame with the scenario script running.
