Title: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: Michael 'Cruzer' on June 14, 2009, 07:53:00 AM

ATTENTION: This first posts are outdated. Have a look at the end of the thread for more recent screenshots!

Since the development of the pak192.comic is only in the German Simutrans Forum, I'll post here some screenshot for getting some impressions of the young Pak-Set.

A first experiment with horses and horse drawn vehicles:

Two new buildings, which were create in the last week:

Looks very nice! Hopefully it wont upset you, but I'd like to give some feedback. Do with it what you prefer. ;)

+ Very clear design
+ Narrow gauge!
+ slick design of trains and buildings

- Tile size allows for higher and more minor details like different greenery, even dog turds on pavements, tile size is not really used to the max.
- switches of tracks could look more real. Again, the tile size would allow more real graphics.

Conclusion:
The advantage of 192px² tiles is the space for little details on tiles, it gives the creator of this pak set a great opportunity for creativity and that could turn out to be the reason for people to pick this pak. Unfortunately details like detailed tracks and a little dirty pavement (because people do pollute) is something I am missing here a little. It would greatly improve this pak if it were a little more detailed, the bigger the tile, the more it could resemble reality. It would be interesting to see where this pak is going, and it could be a favorite, at least on my list if worked out well.. :)

looks really nice, bad that the comp is too lame for it.it uses the swap and needs 10 minutes for creating a 128x128 map with pak64.I'm doomed forever inthe world of lame comps!

64x64 should be really quick. It seems your map generation parameters are screwed. Maybe number of industries is set way too high.

Yes, if you don't mind sharing the values you use, we'll see if we can see any changes to suggest... :)

If it takes 10 minutes to generate the map, I would expect the game to essentially be unplayable - so hopefully it's just some setting out a bit...

If the ratio industry/towns is high then I can't generate maps either.

I just got a new computer,so the problem is no more.
And yes isaac, the map generation of a 128x128 map with 20 cities, median city size 1200 and industry chains50 took really 10 minutes, but it was playable at all.

BTW:900Mhz,154MB of RAM and 512 MB swap along with a Nvidia graphics card 8 years old and debian 5.0 makes the computer(the old one)run really slow...:(

I'm pretty sure 50 industry chains won't fit on a 128x128 map. :-)

At the request of Michael, I've created a 'montage' /logo for 192.Comic. Still rather big, but I can scale down if needed.Still trying to fill those white bits...

Maybe I've been searching in the wrong place, but talking about the final version, where can I download this?

I searched on the forums, but the links to the German forums are at least a year old, Sourceforge has pak192 available, but they seem old(er) versions as well, with the most recent date being 2010-01-04.

Looking at this thread, it seems the final version appeared after April. Where to find this version?

Thanks for any info/updates!

Hello

I have always loved comic pak (96/192) for their beautiful graphics, unfortunately, since I am a fan of simutrans experimental, I've never really used. If one day there was a version of the pak comic for experimental, pak comic would become one of my favorite pak. Until that day, I can only say "congratulations, that beautiful buildings!"

Those paks should work on experimental too, thus stuff like cornering speed should not really matter there.

Since the game economy for the comic paks are designed to make them easier to play than standard, I doubt it that there will be an experimental version. More realism for a comic pak seems a rather strange target ...

Ah, my thoughts exactly. comic paks are the best looking by far. Maybe one day we can steal their graphics for a new experimental pakset.
Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: prissi on March 05, 2013, 08:58:02 PM
Then why do you do not use them with experimental? Or what do you miss?

Those paks should easily load with simutrans-experimental, since they are old enough and not use any modern features.
Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: asaphxiix on March 05, 2013, 09:14:16 PM
well, for starters, I like simutrans hard :P
second, there are many experimental features which are only available on pak128uk experimental at the moment, not only cornering, but important aspects as comfort, loading times, way constraints, etc.

These can mostly be adapted relatively easy on the dat file, if such is available, but still takes some work.

i'm quite fond of the variety of buildings. Gauthiers comparison was rather wrong, a machine gun shoots lots of identical bullets. This is more like Warhols Factory, a stream of individual models.

ps.: pak192 looks extremely nice! (only gripe i have with it, are the very large light grey areas, for my taste they'd need something to 'break' them a bit. Some texture, like the grass aereas would do nicely. (BTW, those are by far the best simutrans grass tiles!)

Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: Alex. Brose on March 27, 2013, 02:55:44 PM
Simutrans is not a citybuilder game?  :o ...  ;) ;) ;)

Haha... Well, our pak192.comic maintainer PTM told me that city buildings (esp. Com/Ind) are deeply required. So i startet to draw one first building to trying out painting for this big size ("Taunusturm/ Taunus Tower").  The result was succesfull in my eyes and so i reactivated my graphic factory. And there's no ending in sight.

When i'm ready with com buildings i will proceed to draw ind buildings. And then... We will see.

I really hope there's nobody bothered about the (mostly) daily previews.  :-)

Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: An_dz on April 29, 2013, 04:00:56 AM
Yes for Santa Catarina, but no for Blumenau. I was born in Jaraguá do Sul but never lived there. I lived in Joinville until 2 years ago, but now I'm in Florianópolis, the capital.

I don't think there's any Fachwerkhaus in Florianópolis because it has a totally Portuguese colonization, but just moving out they start showing up.
In Joinville and Jaraguá they are more common. And before you think so, there's nothing French in Joinville, apart of the name it has Germanic and Italian colonization.

Blumenau, as sdog cited, is very Germanic. There's an old city center full of Fachwerkhaus and other old Germanic style buildings, everybody look like Germans, there's the Oktoberfest, and billions of breweries. It's just not as Germanic as Pomerode, from where this beer (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=11719.msg115256#msg115256) is from. :D

I should like to ask you for a large high-res screenshot showcasing the recent work, as a g+ coverpage. Prefered resolution would be HD, 16:9. Special emphasis should be given to the lower fourth of the screen. As this elongated part would be displayed first, the rest only when scrolling the image. It would also be very good if it was under a open license: CC, public domain, or similar.

It'd be splendid if this was possible. I haven't come around to start simutrans in months, strugling to keep pace with recent developments.

Post by: Leartin on May 29, 2013, 02:05:39 AM
The streets of this pak were kinda boring and it was hard to see which is which without comparison nearby. The last couple days I made some new street graphics, which might replace the old ones in the future.

The first is a new dirt road similar to the old one, but now with a black outline and not so straight ruts. Also, it I removed the turns and added the diagonal ways used in other streets.
The second is a countryside road which isn't quite that well done (by the fictional streetworkers). Like the dirt road there is no snow clearing, so in winter both ways are mostly white.
Third is a better street with delineators. I guess those aren't used all over the world, but at least in Middle Europe every better street has them.
The fourth is inspired by american highways, at least in road marking. Sharp turns are enclosed by some blockades to avoid accidents.
Fifth was supposed to be a german Autobahn, but you just can't do an Autobahn without multiple lanes. It's my least favourite, but you can't have everything ;)

Look forward to these in upcoming versions :D

I'd personally try to fix that rotation on the blue street car, on the back part of it, it looks like a straight line. I don't like it, I'd like more something in the line of this. Ofc this is just a suggestion, you are the artist. ;)

Quite simply, actually. There is no graphic defined for the middle tile, which means it remains empty. Sadly, it really is empty and does not automatically build a street, so if the player doesn't do it manually, a house might spawn under the arch. Or worse, one of Alex' skyscrapers.

No, it's a justice palace / court, loosely based on the Reichstag in Berlin. It's actually a 'factory', you can use police cars to bring suspects from the police station to court, and some of them are 'refined' to criminals for jail. Too bad the guards are sleeping, the criminals don't stay long. Especially with visitors and post enabling breakout-tools in a cake. :)

Just out of curiosity–wouldn't it be quite easy to scale down pak192.comic graphics to be used in pak96.comic? The style seems to fit and scaling should be quite easy due to the 2:1 conversion factor. Is it a copyright issue, or perhaps something to do with the details fading out? All the new buildings look absolutely amazing and I would hate the idea of potential pakset progress being lost for lack of co-ordination.

I think down-scaling will require a lot of time-consuming reworking, especially when graphics are very lacy and full of textures. You can try out my 192-buildings for down-scaling but i'm not sure, if most 192-members agree with same buildings in both graphics sets.  :)

For pixel working it's hard to re-scale, as I and Alex do, but with vectors is extremely easy, like Vláclav do. You can ask him for the vector sources. You'll need to do some post-processing pixel work as the vector might not output fully the right style.

I find it would be nice to share some graphics, but it's nice to keep some differences.
Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: vorlon on February 07, 2014, 07:28:11 PM
Indeed the scaled result doesn't seem to be quite right, might have something to do with the sharp contrast in comic-style graphics. It's just that I was curious and I've made some experimenting with my pak128 creations and they scale down decently with standard GIMP parabolic interpolation.

After giving it some thought I realized that is exactly the case. As great as these buildings are, it wouldn't be interesting anymore to explore different paksets if they had the same buildings. Maybe some common vehicles, roadway textures etc. could be shared, but unique look of each pakset must be preserved! Thanks for helping me make my mind. :)

Well, maybe a scottish blackhead?
Unfortunatly, there is no way to link the used language to the graphics. Once there is, it's quite easy to replace (just one frontimage with offset)
Until then, a possible text for languages wher sheeps don't baa:
First sheep says 'Mäh!'
Second sheep says 'Blök'
Third sheep says 'Baa'
Complains the first to the second: 'All those immegrants, steal our jobs but refuse to learn our language.'

... ajaj ... Beautiful house ... but those trees of grapevine do not look like trees of grapevine - and also, take a look on some photos of vineyards.
Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: Leartin on July 06, 2014, 01:59:00 PM
grapevine would really be more wall-like, they usually melt to one union, usually because there is a "wall" under them (wall=stilts and strings). I did not like my attempts of hedge-like rows, so I ended up with those single bush-like plants.

What do you mean, "look on photos of vineyards"? I don't like such cryptic messages, they always seem to suggest I should realize something. If so, just tell me.
Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: Václav on July 06, 2014, 07:10:14 PM
I thought about using of photos of vineyards as a useful pattern. I often search for photos of things I want to paint, mostly if I am not sure with face.

I don't see anything wrong in it.
Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: Leartin on July 10, 2014, 11:42:07 PM
There is nothing wrong with using photopgraphies as a reference. I already do that, this vineyard is to be found here: www.italien-hauskauf.de/[...] (http://www.italien-hauskauf.de/objekttypen/weingut-immobilien/objekttyp-weingut/items/weingut-in-der-suedlichen-toskana-zu-verkaufen-scansano-grosseto.html?objekttyp=weingut&orderby=kaufpreis&sort=asc)
It's just that, after you told me that you think the grapevines are wrong, you suggested to also look at photos, as if it was an unrelated matter. Just a misunderstanding in language.

And for those who come here expecting something new:

Clearly that factory produces G.I. Joe military action figures and plastic toys, and clearly there has never been military acceptable in Simutrans, so clearly I have banned you from the community forever and ever.

Actually, I had mostly two toys (er, toy... types?) growing up - LEGO and matchbox-style cars. So while it clearly does not go without saying that I think this is awesome, on the other hand, now that I've said it, I think it goes without saying. Again. Maybe.

Seriously, that's wonderful and great. :D And if I ever become an evil overlord, I totally have to make my headquarters look something like that. It's totally doable. Huge painted concrete forms...... lol

I made once such a snow overlay for winter sets (before climates there was a pak64 winter). Unfourtunately performance was really awful then.

This is the same as clouds when zooming out. If somebody feels inspired to do this: Color lookup tables can be desaturated and snow should be easy enough.

Thank you, my friends!

@gauthier: Normally I'm making my buildings after real ones. Sometimes it's really, really tricky due to the fact that 192x192 tiles can be very small if the building is much bigger/taller in reality. :)

Indeed, we need some more department stores. So feel free to paint new stores. I'm not sure if you can upscale your 96px building. You'll see. :)

By the way: There's a new residential tower.

Don't worry. Thanks to PTM (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=10575.msg113890#msg113890) I know scale of Pak192.comic.

Of course, side staircases will get partially new face, even if basic shape will be the same. And may be that all decorations will get a bit different face, too. But snow coverage (and anti-aliasing) will be in your hands.

And by the way, vector editors have some possibilities that may be used for re-scaling with minimum effort.

Hello Carlote, welcome to the forum.

Capslock is the written equivalent of shouting loudly. Except there is no benefit, since it is not "heard" more easily, rather it's harder to read. But like shouting, it's rude and unnecessary. So please don't do that.

Alex is part of the pak192.comic development team. All his creations go straight to the development branch of the pakset, and you can be sure to see them in the upcoming version 0.5. As such, they are not addons to be downloaded, but rather a teaser for the next release.

We do not have a set schedule for the next release, just an idea of what we want to include in it. The only date ever given was christmas 2017 in an attempt to stop questions for the date, and I'm still positive we can make that!

Sadly, they keep themselves free of dust by being the same as in all other climates. I can affect it a little bit if I include the ground in the building, you can see at the very top right that the sidewalk is a bit under sand. I think I'll create a wayobj that changes the look of the citystreet to something more fitting, but it would need to be placed manually. Maybe it would be possible to restrict ways to climates to affect which cityroad could be used where... it's definitelly something to look into, but for now I concentrate on offering a handful of buildings, so the desert can be populated at all.

Peace be upon you, Leartin.

I had to be an art critic for a while. Do you mind?

--- Start art critic session.

Your latest screenshots are as usual, top-notch as of others that you posted before, especially that Russian cathedral.

However, I urge you to not 'show off your artistic skills' because that is the very definition of pretense, that you have, say, 80% of you do it because you wanted to contribute something which is lacking, and 20% of you do it simply to prove that you can. I urge you correct your intention so that 100% of you want to contribute something what you feel is lacking. That Russian cathedral mentioned above is one example of yours that displays these pretensions.

I sometimes exhibit these pretensions in some of my work too, so it is a widespread problem. This problem stems far back to the ancient times, where there are people like this who want to show off that they have moolah by constructing buildings and structures or systems that nobody, even the person who initiated it themselves had no idea what to use it for.

Also, proving that you can do it, to myself, is wasteful in definition, since

a) we know that we can do it too if we liked, but we do not because there are consequences to each and everything we can do and

b) that which portion of the aspects that you obtain that you use to prove that 'you can' end up being unused and left out, which is to me, unfair use of you energy, your soul and your time. You deserve to yourself full, beneficial use of your resources.

Nobody in here hoped that you produce something expensive and shocking like this. We can get by (and refer to) if you just produce something sober, solid and honest that you can maintain in yourself throughout the project.

--- End art critic session.

My only gripe in the latest screenshot is that I am disgusted at the existence of a cat statue beside the temple, and would like to 'bury it under the ground', so to say.

My reasoning is that 'why do you have to shape the stone into a cat? If you want to have a cat, find a cat!'

You should keep to the buildings and scenery, with some abstract sculptures (if ever you decide that it is worthwhile) so that it is palatable for everyone to play, regardless of beliefs.
Title: Re: pak192.comic Screenshots
Post by: Leartin on March 13, 2017, 06:09:19 AM
My dear Qayyum,

please keep in mind that I do not post a screenshot of everything I create, I just do it when I want to show off and get people to tell me how great I am (  ;D ) because that is a motivational boost. Plus, by doing so I keep folks informed that I'm still active.

Sometimes I also pixel something just to show off. Yes, the russian cathedral is, strictly speaking, a waste of time. But that was made at a time where I didn't pixel for a while and even published all my unfinished work since I was not sure I would continue at all, kind of a magnus opum. And it got me back into doing stuff regularly again, so it was definitelly worth it.
These desert buildings, on the other hand, are not wasteful at all. It's not to prove that I can do them, I don't think I have to. I did them because they were lacking, and I needed some  fun distraction from the usual european stuff. I created 12 buildings within the weekend, and if I had to do another 12, it would be easier now that the style is already set and I simply have to combine the elements in different ways. This is a different and more efficient approach than what was done earlier in pak development, where pretty much each building was it's own seperate entity. I try to manage and reuse as much as possible, because the whole creation process speeds up.

Finally, I don't get paid. I'm pretty sure my art would be good enough to be sold, but I prefer to pixel for free, just so I can experiment and do what's fun, and more importantly, not do what I don't like to do. I did, and I always will do, some crazy projects that are not required, just because I wanted to do them. I tell you, I'm more productive if I get to show off from time to time, otherwise the mundane tasks might get too boring and I'd need a few months of break again.

Finally, about the cats... I updated the pyramid way back, and gave it an entrance. Part of it were cat statues, which I think make a lot of sense in ancient egypt. I then just reused them in smaller buildings (rather than creating something new from scratch - efficiency). I honestly can't see anything wrong with them, given that cats are usually not a religious symbol, and even if some religions would forbid them, it could still be a temple of another religion, eg. a temple for the god of internet videos. If that is not palateble for your believes, I'm sorry. But I won't change it - for one, because I don't want someones believes to dictate what I can and cannot do, but mostly because it's a freaking cat. If that's going to be a problem, I don't know what else will. Eg. I recently created a slaughterhouse, pretty sure that's not okay with hindus, guess the whole chain needs to go, right?

They were in ancient times though, as they hunted pests like rats, they even were exported to the rest of the world because of that. That one you drawn is Bastet. Diana, goddess of the Moon and hunt, could transform in a cat. Celtic mythology and much of other "pagan" religions of middle age also had cat goddesses. Witches are seen with cats because of that, they were Celtic priestesses. Cats became the figure of evil when the Catholic Church could no longer tolerate other beliefs to unify Europe in a single religion.

Thanks for the history lesson, but I'd differentiate between "being a religious symbol" and "being related/used in religion".
Let's change it from cat to lion. Is a lion a religious symbol? I would say no, but it's certainly used in many religions. For example, the egyptians had Maahes, hindus have Narasimha, and even Christians have Mark the Evangelist. Even so, if you see a statue of a lion anywhere, say, at the main station in Linz, or on that bridge in Budapest, or at the forbidden City in China - you don't think of a religious context.
Let's get ridiculous, shall we? The symbol of Romuva religion is a tree. A world-tree, like Yggdrasil. Why did Quayyum place that symbol in front of one of his buildings? oô

Everyone, please do not start religious wars here. I had enough when Leartin (or someine else?) have drawn the very nice wayside shrine, crucifix and ancient druid stones. And we almost had another 30 years war of protestants against catholic.

I personally do not mind any religious objects, especially if they have an artistic value by themselves. Keep up the good work Leartin.

For those who are offended by religious symbols of other religions (dead or alive), you have the freedom to delete the offending pak file, so that it does not appear in your game. And what would be even better, you could be encouraged to paint your own religious symbol. A mosque with minaret would be equally nice addition to the desert landscape.

As a kid, I played some Caesar, but even back then it was not my cup of tea. I was more into Settlers and Anno.
I have Pharao and Cleopatra (and a bunch of other games of that type) on Steam, but I don't really take the time to play them - I know they are great, I watched some videos while pixelling, but I just don't feel much nostalgia for them.

Peace be upon you Leartin (and to anyone else after my last recent post),

I am sorry if I offended you from my recent post. I think maybe I should have worded even better. There are some matters that is unexplained here, and I fear that what is unexplained will go too far, so I have to give it a shot. I am sorry if my shot was way off the mark.

(A reply to An_dz)

Why did Quayyum place that symbol in front of one of his buildings? oô

---

Leartin, this is why I am wary of religious symbols. Even my own religion strongly discourages symbols, although you see them people themselves impart symbols to religion, which I am very upset with and 'wish to bury it to the ground' so to say. I did not wish to use even them, myself, to 'show off' my own religion. If I wanted to know what is the matter with my or others' religion, I will go for books and people who are involved in it. In the end, these symbols serves to divide people. To me, religion, in the end, is for yourself, not to show off to others. I think others have said it before, so it is short and sweet.

The tree in front of my desert skyscraper building is not trying to be a Romuva religion symbol. It is only and just a wooden flora.

---

(Vladki)

Everyone, please do not start religious wars here. I had enough when Leartin (or someine else?) have drawn the very nice wayside shrine, crucifix and ancient druid stones. And we almost had another 30 years war of protestants against catholic.

---

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. My fault.

---

(Vladki)
For those who are offended by religious symbols of other religions (dead or alive), you have the freedom to delete the offending pak file, so that it does not appear in your game. And what would be even better, you could be encouraged to paint your own religious symbol. A mosque with minaret would be equally nice addition to the desert landscape.

---

Hey, I did not think of that before. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks, but I would define a mosque differently. Any building could be a mosque, for instance. It is not so particular about architecture, given that you know which bearing is to Mecca, and given that the building is really clean inside that you can walk on the floor with your bare feet and you will see nothing offensive or riveting.

---

I fear that I have diverted too much from the original topic. I am sorry, again, and hope you are still here to post screenshots of pak.192 comic here, Leartin.

So why can't a stone cat just be a stone cat, and only that?

Quote from: Qayyum on March 31, 2017, 04:00:36 AMThanks, but I would define a mosque differently. Any empty warehouse or shelter could be a mosque, for instance. It is not so particular about architecture, given that you know which bearing is to Mecca.
That's the same for any place of prayer, and yet for a game, you'd probably want a mosque that fits what people expect a mosque to be, not what it really is.

Nice to see that progress continues on my favourite pakset! I like the Russian church and desert buildings. While I understand why some have issue with certain buildings, I personally don't mind. I won't go to deep into it, but while I would personally not worship at some (or most) of the religious structures in the game due to theological objections (which I repeat that I will not go into), I don't feel offended or otherwise discriminated against by their inclusion in game. Anyway, good work!

So... the current outlines of pak192.comic clash a bit with the new transparency feature. So I was experimenting a bit with not using them and instead making heavy use of transparency.
It's astonishing - almost looks as if it was a completely different game!

Those buildings that are not in basic direction, are very good idea - but not applicable on all paksets, and buildings, of course. Some ones will have to stay in classical direction.

And BTW, this is not first time I see this style. I have already seen this in game Unknown horizons (http://www.unknown-horizons.org/).

I have a question for you people.
Before I joined the team, all factories were pretty much realistic, with the drawback that they were not immediatly recognized.
I have great fun doing silly themed shapes, like the lego-factory buildt of lego-bricks, and now this.
But do you like this style, or should I rather go back to generic buildings with a logo on one side?

The magnificent mansion must have been here for generations.
You have probably seen it many times before, a vague familiarity overcomes you.
But has it always been here?
Why do you break out in cold sweat when you are near it?
And how comes it compells you to build a bus stop right next to it, as if to... feed it?

This reminds me of a passage from Soul Music by Terry Pratchett, part of the Discworld series, where the protagonists find an ancient music shop - "It was here yesterday, right?" "Of course, it's always been here... hasn't it?" (And of course, it disappears the next day, never to be seen again). :)

It's a beautiful house, love it! And of course the perfect day for posting. :)

Nah, if you don't know how to write it, just write it with an S. It doesn't matter if the later part of the word is correct or not, once you replace the C with an S it becomes a reference, and any misspelling would seem intended.

In my case, I really just wanted the word to miss a letter for aesthetic reasons, and if possible, one should always remove a letter that is not required so the clarity is not obstructed (unless you want to obstruct clarity, see laughterhouse)

(And that's not lava, that's just a crack in the earth with a red light shining through. I originally used purple, so there would not be a liquid to associate with it and a bit more mysterious, but I was told it needs to be red to be evil...)

I'm not sure if extended can load standard paks, maybe it can. But if not, it should be enough to compile the pak with makeobj-extended. Of course be prepared that some of the extended specific features will not work as expected (especially cost balance), but in general it should work.

"I'm not sure if extended can load standard paks"
It can, but most extended features need additional parameters to be set. While technically possible it doesn't make much sense to load standard paksets in extended.

Many paksets for recent standards cannot be started with extended. But many old versions of paksets are OK.

As far as I know, 192.comic can't be started with extended version after a year and a half ago.
pak.nippon v0.2 can be started as it is, but v0.3 and v0.4 cannot be started. It is necessary to make pak using makeobj for extended. (´・ω・`)
pak.nippon v0.2 was released on Apr 2015 and pak.nippon v0.3 was released on Mar 2016.
I think that the changes made in standard during this period had an affect on the extended use of the standard pak.

However, to enjoy extended more it is necessary to give appropriate parameters. It will surely be a huge amount of work...

It's so exciting to see how far the pak192.comic has evolved over all those years. Thank you for keeping the pakset alive, Leartin, Flemmbrav, PTM and everybody else who contributed in the last years!

Such a colorful engine is well suited for a starter set (although with network games in mind, there should be some player color somewhere ...)

Really good idea - that station building. It seems like one of those buildings that are direction neutral. May it be. Good start.

But few minor hints what would be better if it could be reworked:

1: Blue colour of central part and corners
a) I think that building would look better if it could be white at all
b) if you would like to let central part and corners blue, please, use any very light shade instead current one

2: central part
a) windows are great (as splendid) - but they would fit better to higher wall (let's say one floor higher)
b) let there only one type of windows - delete rectangle windows; may it be that this would bring better effect, even without making central part higher
c) they would look better if central part would be lighter (see point 1)
d) it deserves better transition to side parts; that blue colour is not good for this (see point 1)

Actually it's based from Indonesian State Railways corporate logo: Orange and blue. But now I've considered that most of it's stations are uses black or grey instead of blue. And the orange stuff, I can change it into player color.  ;D

The sources are still available in my device though, so I can send them into this forum. Thus, you can edit it because it's too plain to match current graphics standard.  ;)

WRONG. :) But seriously, part of the definition of a double-post is time. If it's been more than 24 hours, a "double-post" is allowed. :) Also, the rule was relaxed a bit to basically say: As long as each individual comment is something like as long as the sidebar with the profile information... it's also okay. Because the point of the rule is many short comments wasting space.

But while I'm here... man... I need to open up Simutrans and play this pak! It just looks so great! :) <3
