Title: Technical Problem
Post by: UncleB on August 31, 2008, 10:16:41 AM
I have a great problem on simutans.

I can't load the save. Also, when I load the file, it shows the error message or the window of it suddenly shut down.

I don't know why. So I need somebody to help me, please!

What version (Simutrans, pak) do you use?

Try and start simutrans with the parameters -log 1 -debug. this will create a log file called simu.log - post the last 20 lines from that here.

Only then can we begin to help you.

EDIT: and this belongs more under "Help Requests" than "pak128 discussion" - so maybe it should moved there...?

I use Simutrans 100-0 and of course I play pak 128!

I figured that you play pak128 (hence the placement of this thread) - but which version of it?

EDIT:
But much more important is the log-file.

But I don't know where the log-file is!

Well, you could simply search for the file simu.log... ???

On windows it should be under "My Documents\Simutrans" - just about where your save-files folder is also located.

Linux [user]/.simutrans or [user]/simutrans

Ok so you found it - you still need to post the last 20 or so lines from it after the game crashed.

Is it that file?

I told you the file name was simu.log - not changelog.txt

So for the last time (for me at least):
Start Simutrans with the parameters I mentioned above, load the savegame that leads to the crash, and after Simutrans crashed, locate simu.log and copy&paste the last 20 lines (not the whole file) here.

I'll add: if you don't know what

Start Simutrans with the parameter
means, just say so...
