Following developments discussed here (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=7926.0), I have made a list of 431 local stop names. I have not yet had time to check/test whether this exceeds the maximum; if anybody knows whether it does, I should be grateful to know.

I think there's a typo in one line.
"M%$1s ott Square %$2s"
probably should read "%$1s Mott Square %$2s"

Has anyone got this new list actually working in-game? From further reading, I believe you need to change, for example, "%$1s High Road %$2s" to "%1$s High Road %2$s" to work with the translator. That is, put the numeral before the "$", not after.
Doing this, I was able to get the list to work in Standard/128, subject to the string-length problems mentioned later on in the other thread.

As of Nightly 4813, the names appear correctly without the extra letters.
Hmm, I just think of plausible sounding names and don't stop until the list is rather long... glad that you like it!
